Henry Williamson Named CEO at Digital Publisher iMedia Intl.

iMedia International has named Henry Williamson, the company’s President of Newspaper Syndication and the former Director of Advertising at the Los Angeles Times, Chief Executive Officer effective immediately.

The company says that co-founder David MacEachern will remain iMedia’s Chairman and will now assume the role of Chief Architect.

“These are opportunistic times for our Company,” Williamsonsaid in a statemenet. “iMedia has all the right stuff — great people, great ideas and great technology. With our launch of the first ever interactive newspaper network, we are poised to execute on our strategic goals and build upon the Company’s tradition as innovators in developing interactive digital media.”

Williamson has long worked in newspaper publishing and advertising sales. During nearly 10 years at the Los Angeles Times, he managed major retail advertising categories such as Consumer Electronics, General Merchandise, Sporting Goods and Department Stores. He oversaw nearly 25% of the company’s total advertising revenues, and managed clients within the automotive, regional, and special sections categories of the paper.
