New Zealand’s Horton Media Ltd. has started UV-equipped newspaper printing at its Auckland-area Business Media Press plant, according to a July 8 report in btobonline.co.nz, Website of Times House Publishing’s Business to Business, which prints at the plant.
UV-cured ink will enable improved color printing on higher-quality paper in all publications. Those that use the process will require no extra time for production of UV-printed pages or covers.
Chairman Michael Horton, whose company also has properties in Australia, said he expected the plant’s enhanced capability would re-stimulate local newspaper publishing and make it more competitive with other media.
