Yahoo’s HotJobs is partnering with social networking site Facebook, allowing Facebook users to share career search information.
With the new application — the public beta launch can be found here by those registered with Facebook — users can search for openings on HotJobs, create a favorite list of companies and share with Facebook friends, and see where friends have worked.
Job seekers can also “catch the eye” of potential employers under the heading “companies I [love].” Facebook users can list and target companies they would like to work for.
Facebook attracts 36 million users, so the move will open up new audiences for HotJobs. It will allow employers to more easily target what is considered the holy grail in recruitment, passive job seekers.
Prior to this partnership, Facebook users could search for jobs on the site’s marketplace section, which is dedicated for listing items for sale.
