John Trainor has been appointed general manager of Hoy, effective July 14. He succeeds Julian Posada, who left in May.
Trainor is the co-founder and chairman of Hispanic Solutions, a company in Chicago with a focus on U.S. Hispanic and Latin-American advertising and media.
“John brings to this role a perfect storm of adverting/marketing experience, media savvy, and deep roots within the Hispanic community,” Owen Youngman, senior vice president of strategy and development at the Chicago Tribune, said in a statement. “He is the ideal person to advance Hoy as the newspaper creates new value for advertisers and serves the local Hispanic community with daily local reporting.”
