To promote its expansion into heavily Hispanic Chicago suburbs, the Spanish-language daily Hoy is offering to wash the clothes of readers at select laundramats starting Monday.
The promotion will be kicked off Monday at the Clothes Line in Aurora, Ill., with the first 50 visitors getting a free load of wash from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Hoy is continuing the promotion through Sept. 27 at various laundramats in the key suburbs it is targeting: Aurora, Elgin, and Joliet.
As reported by E&P last week, Tribune Co.’s Hoy is increasing its distribution of the five-day free tabloid by 40%, and adding editorial pages and staff in an expansion beyond the Chicago city limits. The expanded distribution began Monday.
