Ifra, the worldwide research and service organization for the news publishing industry, announced its schedule of conferences and study tours for the second half of the year.
The focus will be on the latest industry developments and challenges, including business models, cross-media marketing, and digital publishing.
The September-November calendar includes:
22 to 25 September: “Leaders 2008” – The Newspaper Executive Development Program at SIMI, Copenhagen, Sept. 22-25, in English — training in three modules for newspaper managers on their way up.
“The Future of News Publishing,” Rome, Oct. 9-10, in English — the most recent developments and their impact on business models, strategies and tactics.
“Pre-Ifra Expo Study Tour: Semi-commercial Printing in Europe,” various sites, Oct. 19-25, in English — examination of technical implementations for semi-commercial printing
“Ifra Expo 2008,” Amsterdam, Oct. 27-30 — the latest in news publishing and printing, with more than 10,000 newspaper executives from more than 80 countries expected.
“Newspapers Today – Focus Sessions at IFRA Expo” in Amsterdam, Oct. 27-29, in English — focus sessions accompanying the trade show look at business and management, advertising, newspaper production, color/quality management, and strategies in newsrooms.
“Beyond the Printed Word” — the 16th World Digital Publishing Conference, Budapest, Nov. 20-21, in English, German, French and Spanish — the latest trends in the digital newspaper business, successful case studies and a global overview.
