HT Media Ltd., publisher of the Hindustan Times and Hindi-language daily Hindustan, has begun publishing Mint, a new daily aimed at the India’s rapidly growing business and financial communities.
Printed as a 24-page Berliner edition and available online, the daily carries financial and economic news and information, as well as pages of international news provided through an agreement with the Wall Street Journal.
Mint is produced by an integrated print-Web newsroom in New Delhi on the Methode editorial and archive platform supplied by EidosMedia. The daily and its Web site were created from scratch in three months, according to EidosMedia Project Manager Marco Cucurachi.
“With its lively graphic format and fast-moving information flows, Mint makes full use of M?thode’s powerful graphic design and productivity features,” EidosMedia General Manager Gabriella Franzini said in a statement, adding that the implementation marks Methode’s debut in the Asia.
Rather than rely on repurposing of content, each story created feeds both print and online production channels – a model that EidosMedia said “will serve as a model for the extension of the M?thode solution to the group’s other media products.”
In addition to its newspapers, the group’s print portfolio includes numerous magazines and periodicals and news and special-interest Web portals. HT Media also is expanding into broadcast.
