INDIANAPOLIS STAR SEEKS KNIGHT PAPERS

By: Mark Fitzgerald

Records Of Fired Coach Still At Issue

With Indiana University putting a full-court press on The
Indianapolis Star in Marion County, the newspaper has gone to
Monroe County Circuit Court with its lawsuit demanding documents
related to the school’s firing last September of basketball coach
Bob Knight.

As in its previous lawsuit filed in October, the Star suit
contends the university is violating Indiana’s public-records law
by refusing to make available the notes and documents behind the
highly publicized dismissal of Knight for violating last-chance
“zero tolerance” disciplinary standards imposed on Knight. The
university argued the previous suit had been filed in the wrong
county.
