IPS News Agency to Honor Kofi Annan

Inter Press Service (IPS), the Rome-based global news agency, has named outgoing UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan to receive its International Achievement Award for 2006.

The award honors “accomplishments in promoting democracy and human rights.”

IPS content is distributed in the United States by the New York-based Global Information Network, which offers news and feature articles from the developing world.
