Iran Imposes Severe Restrictions on Media Election Coverage

Severe restrictions have been imposed on foreign and domestic media to ensure that coverage of Iran’s presidential election on Friday is tightly controlled.  

International media watchdogs and journalists say that the majority of visa applications from foreign news organisations to cover the contest have been rejected or simply ignored.
