Is the Times’ Editorial Board a Democratic Player or Protester?

Nobody believed that The New York Times’ decision not to endorse Governor Andrew Cuomo in yesterday’s Democratic primary would be a deciding factor in the race. But insofar as it expressed a liberal dissatisfaction with Cuomo’s record, it at least comported with the results: Zephyr Teachout and Tim Wu drew approximately 35 and 40 percent of the vote in their bids for governor and lieutenant governor, respectively, making theirs a shockingly successful protest.
