Jameson Named ‘Muscatine Journal’ Publisher

Steven Jameson was named publisher of the Muscatine (Iowa) Journal, effective Oct. 1, when Bob Blackman retires, the Journal reports.

The 44 Jameson has 17 years of print-advertising experience, most recently serving as classified advertising director at sister paper and Lee Enterprises flagship Quad-City Times, Davenport, Iowa, since January 2008. He also has directed Hawkeye Printing, a commercial print shop.

A native Minnesotan, Jameson graduated from the University of Minnesota and served in the U.S. Air Force.

Jameson has worked as an advertising copywriter and designer for companies such as Best Buy. From 2000-02, the Jameson and his wife, Susan, co-owned and published Prairie Ad-News, a weekly in Lester Prairie, Minn.

Blackman, 62, is retiring after a 38-year newspaper career, including 26 with Lee Enterprises. He has been publisher of the Journal since last September.
