Jerome Wassmann Named Publisher in Alabama

Jerome Wassmann has been named publisher of the Daily Mountain Eagle in Jasper, Ala. Wassmann has been at the Eagle for 23 years, joining the staff in 1981 as assistant to the publisher.

Wassmann, has been at the Eagle for 23 years, succeeds Doug Pearson, who died in July. Pearson served the paper as publisher for nearly a quarter of a century.

Before coming to Jasper, Wassmann was editor and publisher of The Aurora (Mo.) Advertiser.
