Jodi Rudoren Promoted to ‘NY Times’ Deputy Metro Editor

The New York Times has announced that Jodi Rudoren, its national correspondent, will become the next Deputy Metro Editor. She will work under Joe Sexton, the Metro Editor.

Prior to her work at the Times, Rudoren served as managing editor of the Yale Daily News. Among her more notable stories for the Times national desk were a series on John Kerry?s 2004 presidential campaign, on the death of Paul Wellstone, and on a group of creationists from the Grand Canyon. In addition to reporting for the Times, Rudoren also dedicates her time to the paper’s student journalism institute in New Orleans, where she is a mentor.

She will begin as Deputy Metro Editor in September.
