Journal Publishing Co. of Tupelo, Miss., has purchased Southern Sentinel and the Southern Advocate from Sentinel News AC. Terms of the deal, brokered by W.B. Grimes & Co., were not disclosed.
Southern Sentinel is a paid twice-weekly paper based in Ripley, Miss., and the Southern Advocate is a paid weekly in Ashland, Miss.
“We are happy to announce the acquisition of these two fine publications,” Clay Foster, president and COO of Journal Publishing, said in a statement. “They are a good fit with our efforts to build community and improve the quality of life in the markets we serve.”
Sentinel News AC LLC is a Mississippi-based subsidiary of Family Publishing Group.
