Journal Register Co. said Tuesday it is expanding its advertising partnership with Yahoo into the Philadelphia market. The chain will use Yahoo’s behavioral and geographical ad targeting system to deliver ad messages.
“Our company is rapidly transforming to a multi-platform news and information company serving our audience and advertisers on the platforms of their choice,” Journal Register CEO John Paton said in a statement. “Our partnership with Yahoo is a key initiative to successfully deliver on that transformation.”
In support of the “digital first” initiative, Journal Register named Ryan Adams as director of national digital sales and Teresa Goodrich as director of retail advertising.
Adams has more than 14 years experience in advertising, having worked at DDB Needham Advertising, Forbes Magazine, and, most recently, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philly.com. Adams is responsible for digital advertising across Journal Register’s 324-multiplatform products.
Goodrich has worked for The Oakland Press in Pontiac, Mich. for more than 19 years. She will focus on launching new digital products and will lead the company’s sales efforts with Yahoo Digital, Journal Register said.
