Journal Sentinel in ‘Chicago Reader’ Pact

Journal Sentinel Inc., a Journal Communications Inc. company, said Friday it signed a three-year contract with Creative Loafing Inc. to print the Chicago Reader, an alternative weekly newspaper.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Chicago Reader will start printing at Journal Sentinel’s Milwaukee newspaper production plant on Oct. 3. The company will print about 135,000 copies on Wednesday mornings for distribution that evening.

Shares of publisher and broadcaster Journal Communications added 16 cents to $9.86 in morning trading.
