Journalists Arrested In Ferguson Barred From Talking About Settlement

Four journalists have settled a lawsuit against the St. Louis County Police Department over their arrests in Ferguson, Missouri, during the unrest that followed Michael Brown’s death – but they won’t be allowed to talk about it.

Under the deal, Ryan Devereaux, Lukas Hermsmeier, Ansgar Graw and Frank Herrmann cannot “take any steps to publicize any of the terms” of the settlement.

    An absurd outcome. A governmental entity is spending UNREVEALED sums of TAXPAYER dollars?

    Would never fly in California pursuant to both statute and caselaw. The secret settlement of litigation in which one party is a government entity is void as against public policy.
