Kevin Roach has been named executive producer for online video by the Associated Press as part of the wire service’s efforts to expand video news operations. Roach will be in charge of AP’s online video operations, including the company’s Online Video Network, which has 1300 affiliated Web sites and 45 million unique visitors each month.
Roach was previously a regional director of Internet Broadcast Systems, where he was in charge of the Web sites of 17 television stations. He also has worked at ABC News, and at several local television stations.
“Kevin brings unique skills and key insights into the way news video is produced and distributed to the Web,” said James Williams, Senior Vice President for AP Global Broadcast, in a statement. “His experience in overseeing Web sites, producing network television and managing local television news will greatly benefit AP’s online video product and long term growth.”
