King Features Weekly Service (KFWS) has gained a number of newspaper clients since DBR Media ceased operations last week.
“Since March 17 — the day DBR shut its doors — we’ve picked up 17 new customers from DBR,” KFWS General Manager David Cohea told E&P this morning.
KFWS — which syndicates a weekly package of more than 75 comics, columns, puzzles, and other features — has more than 1,300 subscribers. Among them are weekly, monthly, and college newspapers.
The weekly service has been offered by King since 1986. DBR Media, which targeted a similar client base as KFWS, was launched in 2000.
