Printing Industries of America has awarded two of its six 2010 InterTech Technology Awards for innovation in the graphic communications industry to Kodak, this year’s only multiple winner.
Kodak was honored for its Prosper S10 imprinting system and Digicap NX screening. The later technology improves ink transfer efficiency non-newspaper flexo applications.
The Prosper S10 is a monochrome continuous inkjet solution that integrates with web offset presses and web finishing equipment, allowing printers to leverage existing assets, capture new business and add value to direct marketing jobs. The system features offset-class quality of 600 x 600-dpi resolution and operates at up to 1,000 feet per minute, saving time and money over a traditional, two-step variable data process that combines offset pre-printed forms and offline laser imprinting.
The S-10 is used in a newspaper-production environment at CN Newsprint, Carlisle, England.
Over the years, Kodak has received a total of 26 InterTech Technology Awards for innovative solutions for commercial, data, publishing and packaging printers.
