Knight Ridder of San Jose, Calif., has created a new executive position to coordinate the company’s classified iniatives in print and online. Thomas Mohr, vice president of advertising for Nashville’s The Tennessean, will become Knight Ridder’s corporate director of classified advertising and vice president for Knight Ridder Digital on Feb. 4.
“Tom’s first priority will be to help us to drive growth of CareerBuilder, leveraging the integration of print and online,” said Knight Ridder Digital President Dan Finnigan. “Down the road, he will work to do the same in other classified categories.”
Before joining Gannett’s Tennessean, Mohr was executive vice president of marketing and strategic alliances at Universal Talkware, a technology startup. He also spent over nine years at McClatchy’s Star Tribune in Minneapolis. While there, he helped launch WorkAvenue.com, an integrated print-online recruitment site.
