LA TIMES’ JAFFE TO FOXSPORTS.com

By: Paul Bond

New Producer Will Expand Coverage

(The Hollywood Reporter) Rick Jaffe said Tuesday that he has resigned his position as the No.
2 person on the Los Angeles Times sports desk to join FoxSports.com as an executive producer.

Jaffe, formerly executive sports editor at the Times, will be based in Los Angeles and report
to Senior Vice President Danny Greenberg, who is moving to Los Angeles from New York.

Jaffe’s first responsibility is to expand the Web site’s efforts in breaking important news
relative to sports. Jaffe will oversee the New York and Los Angeles news operations.

He will also slowly wean the site off the wire copy on which it’s dependent in favor of exclusive
content generated by FoxSports.com writers.

Jaffe said he has been fielding a variety of opportunities in the Internet space but ‘took this one
seriously because of the Fox name.’

‘It’s a very exciting opportunity,’ he said. ‘The Internet is the next wave of where our medium is
headed. Newspapers and television are bound by space. The Internet is only bound by our imaginations.

‘I want to build a site that encourages people not only to look at it but to keep coming back for
more.’

Jaffe previously worked at the Chicago Sun-Times, The National Sports Daily, and the Atlanta

Journal-Constitution.
