The Los Angeles Times killed its weekly “Tech Times” section with today’s final issue. The paper said additional technology coverage will now appear in the Monday business section and Thursday’s “Calendar Weekend” section.
The Tribune-owned paper said the change was part of an effort “to make optimal use of the space available in the newspaper,” noting that total editorial space in 2002 will remain the same as last year.
In the last year, a number of newspapers have killed technology and Internet sections as a result of the dot-com advertising bust. “Tech Times” was launched in October 2000.
