LA TIMES NAMES MULTIMEDIA EDITOR

TV Producer Takes New Post


(Mediaweek Online) The
Los Angeles Times has named television producer Joseph
Russin to the new position of assistant managing editor for
multimedia.

Russin will set up a new multimedia desk at the Times and
oversee content sharing between the Times, its Web site,
other Tribune newspapers, and broadcast stations, including KTLA-
TV in Los Angeles.

He also will oversee multimedia publishing and cross-promotions.
He assumed the job Monday, reporting to managing editor Dean
Baquet. Russin was supervising producer on the Fox Television
show “America’s Most Wanted” and senior producer of the Emmy
Award-winning PBS series about the media, “Inside Story.”

His print experience includes Newsweek, where he was
education editor and served as a correspondent in the magazine’s
Washington and San Francisco bureaus.
