PricewaterhouseCooper Releases Circulation Figures
The Los Angeles Times and The Orange County Register, traditionally rivals for readers, announced Friday the release of circulation figures provided by an independent auditor, reported the Register.
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP provided circulation figures that include discount sales of the two papers. The Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) is the industry standard for circulation figures but in the ‘paid circulation’ category does not consider papers sold at a 50 percent discount.
The PricewaterhouseCoopers audit includes circulation such as home delivery, education copies, and papers sold at special events.
According to their audit for the three months ended Sept. 30:
* Daily circulation at the Register was 363,363. Sunday was 418,792.
* In Orange County alone, the Register was 337,994. Sunday was 388,650.
* The Los Angeles Times Orange County edition’s Monday through Friday circulation was 192,640. On Saturday it was 174,299. On Sunday, 256,298.
* The Times’ total circulation was 1,126,335, with Saturday at 1,011,384, and Sunday circulation of 1,383,571.
