Lakeland ‘Ledger’ Names New Ad Director

The Ledger newspaper of Lakeland, Fla., announced Thursday it had promoted Dawn Willis to to the position of advertising director.

“Dawn brings a high level of energy, passion and vision to the position,” said Ledger Publisher Jerome Ferson in a statement. “She has the skills and abilities necessary to lead the Advertising Department through this transformative and highly volatile period and on to a more prosperous time.”

In her new capacity, Willis will will supervise advertising sales and design at The Ledger and several sister publications, including the Spanish-language Vision Latina, Polk County Business Journal and Polk Voice. She had previously been the Ledger’s operating manager, a position she had held since February 2007.

In a statement to the paper, Willis said, “We have a lot of challenges, but we have many properties to work on with staff and the community to offer the best in advertising and the best in news.”
