Landry Named News Editor of ‘Gaylord (Mich.) Herald Times’

Cathy Landry, former systems manager for The Blade in Toledo, Ohio, has been named news editor of the Gaylord (Mich.) Herald Times, announced the paper Thursday.

Landry has worked for the Blade for 10 years, serving as a copy editor before becoming systems manager of the newsroom?s computer system. Previous to that, Landry was a copy editor for The Daily Item in Sunbury, Pa., and prior that, a sports writer and news editor at The Huntsville (Texas) Item. Her first journalism job was as an assignment reporter and sports editor for The Sedalia (Mo.) Democrat.

She replaces Peter Comings as news editor, who has been promoted to online manager and editor of Schurz Communications Northern Michigan digital division. Schurz Communications is the owner of the Herald Times.
