Landmark Community Newspapers purchased The Loudoun Easterner from Creative Publications of Virginia. The 62,000 circulation free weekly is based in Ashburn, Va. Terms of the transaction, brokered by Cribb & Associates, were not disclosed.

Since 1989, Mary Elizabeth Miller owned Creative Publications of Virginia until her death in November 2004.

Craig Bohrer has been named publisher of the Loudoun Easterner. Most recently he was publisher of The Journal, a daily paper based in Martinsburg, W.Va.

?We are excited about the future of this newspaper that has grown up within the fast-growing Loudoun County area,? said Mike Abernathy, president of LCNI, in a statement. ?We hope to continue to build on the record of service by the previous owner, the late Beth Miller.?
