(AP) Starting this weekend, readers of France’s Le Monde will get a new supplement when they open their weekend newspapers: 12 pages of articles from The New York Times.
The English-language supplement, which debuts Saturday, will feature a selection of the U.S. daily’s top articles.
The news will come in five categories: world events, money and business, high-tech, art and style, and Americana, the respected French daily wrote Tuesday. The newspaper’s price will not change.
“By entering into this collaboration with the prestigious American newspaper, Le Monde is responding to the growing expectations of readers who are curious and attentive about everything that happens across the Atlantic,” wrote Jean-Marie Colombani, the publisher. “It is indispensable to learn more about American opinions, analyses, and options — not to make them our own, but to understand them,” Colombani said.
For several days after Sept. 11, Le MondeL published a page of articles about the terror attacks in English from The New York Times.
