Lee Enterprises has chosen to roll out the Caspio Bridge platform for online database publishing from Caspio Inc., Sunnyvale, Calif., after its recent deployment by Cox Newspapers.
Using step-by-step wizards, media companies use Caspio Bridge to boost readership and page views by publishing local databases such as school statistics, sports scores, political campaign data, local directories and surveys.
“We can now offer ‘push-of-the-button’ interactive content for our readers, providing dynamic local information as well as nationwide statistics. That’s very exciting for us,” Lee Interactive Media Director Jeff Herr said in a statement.
“Newspapers are sitting on tremendously valuable database assets which used to be difficult to publish and monetize,” said Caspio founder and CEO, Frank Zamani. “We make it easy and cost effective for Web site operators to publish databases and create web applications.”
Since 2001 more than 50,000 Web applications have been built with Caspio Bridge, according to the company.
