Gulledge Leaves Illinois For Montana
Lee Enterprises has promoted Michael Gulledge, publisher of the Herald & Review in Decatur, Ill., to publisher of the Billings (Mont.) Gazette.
Effective immediately, Gulledge succeeds Bruce Whittenberg who announced last week that he is leaving the Midwestern newspaper company.
Gulledge will be responsible for the Gazette as well as the Yellowstone Shopper, Thrifty Nickel, and the Western Business Journal. The Gazette has a daily circulation of 48,200 and on Sundays circulation nears 53,700.
Combined with the shoppers, Lee Enterprises reaches more than 75,000 homes in central and eastern Montana and northern Wyoming.
Gulledge began working for Lee Enterprises as an intern at the Southern Illinoisan while attending Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He joined the paper full time in 1983.
