The Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader recently published ‘The Piston’ auto book using the automotive product from Virtual AdTaker, Englewood, Colo. The McClatchy Co. daily has been a Virtual AdTaker customer since January 2007.
The reverse-publishing capability helped to quickly launch the automotive print product soon after a competing publication left the market.
Virtual AdTaker’s automotive product allows the Herald-Leader to easily publish commercial and private-party automotive photo ads in book form, compiling ads from various sources in a customizable process. Private-party customers can pay by credit card, streamlining collection on individual ads.
One of a suite of advertising products for the publishing industry, the automotive product was developed to enable newspapers and automotive clients to load data and photos manually or electronically. Publishers can use the data to quickly produce newspaper ads, auto books, used-car guides, inventory lists and Web feeds.
