LiveDeal.com, a free online classified site, and AdStar, a company that provides a classified platform to more than 100 newspapers, announced an alliance on Wednesday.
?Our partnership with LiveDeal.com represents a tremendous fusion of print and online advertising, combining the convenience and power of the Web with the reach and franchise power of local newspapers,? Leslie Bernhard, president and CEO, of AdStar in a statement.
LiveDeal attracts about 1.4 million unique visitors per month and has online ad listings of more than $5 billion worth of goods for sale in local markets throughout the United States.
The partnership will allow LiveDeal to use AdStar?s classified ad transaction technology to provide its online classified advertisers with the option to place their ads in local newspapers. After posting their online ads, LiveDeal?s users can select the print publishing option, which uses AdStar?s print ad placement platform where a new ad will be created from the information provided in their online LiveDeal listing.
In turn, AdStar will format the ad for the selected newspaper and submit to the paper.
Participating newspapers also have the option to upsell online classified advertising opportunities on LiveDeal to their print classified customers.
