London’s ‘Daily Telegraph’ to Use IPA/alfaQuest PrintExpress

By: E&P Staff

News International’s London-based Daily Telegraph Media Group has contracted with United Kingdom’s IPA Systems Ltd., parent of alfaQuest Technologies Inc., Rolling Meadows, Ill., for PrintExpress production workflow systems.

Printing of the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph will move from West Ferry Printers to News International-owned Newsprinters, which will install PrintExpress prepress workflow systems at its three sites.

The three systems, which include RipExpress, Web soft proofing, PDF Mereger and PrintExpress Tracker modules, will offer a fast, flexible system capable of monitoring and reporting on key points in the production cycle, from page reception to output.

In the United States, News International’s New York Post already has installed PrintExpress, as have the New York Times and dailies owned by Scripps, Belo, Cox and MediaNews.
