The Los Angeles Newspaper Group (LANG) appointed Fred Hamilton as president. He succeeds Ed Moss, who was named president and publisher of The San Diego Union-Tribune. Hamilton was previously the president and publisher of the Inland Division of LANG.
“Ed Moss did a terrific job for us as head of LANG, and we are sorry to see him go,” Steve Rossi, president and CEO of the California Newspapers Partnership which operates LANG, said in a statement. “However, we are fortunate that Fred Hamilton is ideally suited and prepared for the top position in LANG.”
The company also announced that Liz Gaier was named interim publisher of the Los Angeles Daily News. She is currently senior vice president of business development at MediaNews Group.
California Newspapers Partnership is owned mostly by MediaNews Group in conjunction with Stephens Media and Gannett.
