Lucy Talley has been appointed vice president of newspapers at Morris Publishing Group. Talley will begin work on July 12, and will oversee the company?s Eastern Group in Augusta, GA. Her responsibilities will include the management of the Eastern Group?s 10 newspapers and shoppers.
Talley has been in the newspaper industry since 1979, and most recently served as the president and publisher of The Salisbury (N.C.) Post. Prior to this, she worked as director of advertising and general manager of The Post and Courier (S.C.), which is owned by Evening Post Publishing, the parent company of The Salisbury Post.
Talley currently serves on the advertising advisory board at the American Press Institute. In the past, she was president of both the Mid-Atlantic Newspaper Advertising and Marketing Executives and the Florida Newspaper Advertising and Marketing Executives groups.
Morris Publishing Group owns and operates 27 daily and 12 non-daily newspapers, as well as four city magazines and multiple free publications, in the Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, and Alaska.
