The MAN Roland Users Group (MANRUG) has scheduled its annual conference in Chicago this fall in conjunction with the Graph Expo 2010 trade show.
The users group will meet Saturday, Oct. 2, the day before the show opens, and on Sunday. The exhibition and conference runs through Oct. 6 in McCormick Place South. The MANRUG conference will be co-located in McCormick Place.
Open to users of manroland web offset printing presses throughout the Americas, the MAN Roland Users Group conference provides a way for users, predominantly newspaper professionals, to network, share experiences and best practices, and meet with vendors.
“Due to the economy, the MAN Roland Users Group had not been able to meet in the past couple of years, Mobile (Ala.) Press-Register Operations Director Mel Balch, a user group board member, said in a statement. “In order to be functional and provide full value, though, our group really needs to have its members meet and talk face-to-face.”
Balch sited Graph Expo’s central location, with a number of members within driving distance, manroland’s suburban-Chicago headquarters, and this year’s newspaper pavilion at the show. “A lot of our support vendors will also already be at the show,” he added.
