Germany’s manroland AG announced it will cut 110 jobs in indirect functions in its web press business in Augsburg and 515 jobs in indirect functions in its sheetfed press business sector in Offenbach this year and next owing to delayed purchasing decisions and a move to eliminate redundant manufacturing processes.

The press manufacturer also said it will close its Mainhausen factory outside Frankfurt, with the products assembled there integrated into the Offenbach factory.

At manroland Inc., Westmont, Ill., CEO Vince Lapinski said in a statement that “due to the company’s early reaction to the slowing economy, manroland ended the year with positive results” and remains committed to the North American printing industry.
