The Sacramento Bee, The Modesto Bee, and The Fresno Bee, the original three of The McClatchy Co.’s five California dailies, recently chose Olive Software, Santa Clara, Calif., to enhance their digital editions to boost readership and circulation and reduce the costs of their Newspaper in Education programs.
To date, 11 McClatchy papers have selected Olive’s product suite. Digital Editions replicate the look and feel of the printed version, including all content, including inserts, in an online format. “Using digital editions gives us new ways to serve our readers and advertisers,” McClatchy Operations Vice President Frank Whittaker said in a statement.
Olive President and CEO Yuval Rachmilevitz said McClatchy is using digital newspapers as “a foundation to launch a range of digital offerings that engage their readers, extend the reach of their advertisers, and improve their newsroom operations.”
Also this week at Nexpo, Olive showed the next release of its digital-edition software, ActivePaper daily 4.0.
