The Dallas Morning News has named former Los Angeles Newspaper Group CEO John McKeon to the newly created position of president and general manager.
The newspaper business veteran of more than 30 years will begin his new job October 1st and will report to publisher Jim Moroney.
As president, CEO and publisher of the Los Angeles Newspaper Group, McKeon was responsible for nine newspapers and more than 1,900 employees. The group is part of the Denver-based MediaNews Group. He’s also held high-level posts with Knight-Ridder Inc. and the Tribune Co./Times Mirror.
The Dallas Morning News is the flagship newspaper subsidiary of Belo Corporation, which owns four daily newspapers and 20 TV stations.
