RICHMOND, VA. –  Media General’s Operations and Distribution Solutions Group (O&DS) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Citizen Media, Inc., publisher of the Lake Norman Citizen of Huntersville, N.C.

The Lake Norman Citizen has been published weekly for more than two years and serves readers and advertisers in the greater Lake Norman community north of Charlotte.  It is printed at Media General’s O & DS’ Winston-Salem, N.C., printing facility.

Publisher Kim Clark commented on the recent move to Media General by saying, ”We were looking for not simply a vendor, but rather for a partner in our industry; someone who understands the needs of a weekly suburban newspaper and also has the equipment and the expertise to provide the quality product our readers demand. Media General offers the flexibility we need for new and different products we plan to incorporate in our business plan through their various printing plants, but mostly we were confident in what they can do with our core product — our newspaper.”

In early 2009, Media General formed the Operations & Distribution Solutions Group to manage its production and distribution operations across all markets in order to maximize utilization of its production and distribution assets in the Southeast.  Media General has 10 strategically located print facilities in the Southeast. In addition to printing its own newspapers, the company provides printing and delivery services for more than 100 other newspapers and specialty products. For more information, visit
