Mediaspace Solutions in Norwalk, Conn., has appointed Bill Aiello as business development director, reporting to the senior vice president of sales and marketing.
Aiello will focus on developing category-specific opportunities for key advertisers in vertical industries for the multi-market newspaper advertising and online media placement services provider. Mediaspace has relationships with more than 4,500 newspapers and works with agencies and major advertisers.
Aiello’s newspaper and advertising career spans more than 25 years, during which he has held operations, management, and sales positions at Gannett Co., Publicitas, The Newspaper Network, Newspaper National Network, Active Media, and Tribune MediaNet. Aiello also has a background in the sales sector, where he managed sales for CIBRO/Coastal Petroleum and NJ Royal Crown Cola.
Besides expanding vertical initiatives ranging from pharmaceutical, auto, and packaged goods to the business-products industries, Aiello will work “directly between our clients and our newspaper partners to close the perceived gap between advertiser needs and newspaper capabilities — from pricing, to deadlines, and online placement possibilities,” Mediaspace Solutions President Scot Kerr said in a statement announcing Aiello’s appointment.
