MediaSpan, Research Triangle Park, N.C., has opened an online ad sales office for its Network business unit in San Francisco and hired Patrick Thomas in the newly created position of network ad sales manager, West. Thomas had been at Blue Lithium as senior account executive since 2005.
The move follows the announcement that MediaSpan formed an online sales partnership with Broadcast Interactive Media, to create the largest multimedia local ad network in the U.S.
The Network sales team already includes resources in New York City and Madison, Wis., as part of the partnership. MediaSpan said it plans to announce the opening of additional sales operations later in 2007.
Thomas’ “knowledge of the West Coast sales environment coupled with his strong relationships with Silicon Valley’s top Interactive agencies will bring new business to our affiliates and grow awareness of the power of locally targeted online media with the advertising thought leaders,” MediaSpan Chief Marketing Officer Mark Zagorski said in a statement.
