Managing Editor Inc. (MEI), Jenkintown, Pa., announced it is ready to install and support integration between the vjoon K4 cross-media publishing platform and Adobe’s recently announced Digital Publishing Platform. K4 users running Adobe CS3, CS4 or CS5 can now start taking advantage of integration with Adobe’s new interactivity design tools.

K4 can now be used to publish to the iPad and other emerging media. Core K4 features such as versioning, variants, explicit multichannel workflows and multiple placement of objects ensure that content can be easily authored and reused for any channel, according to MEI.

With K4 connected to Adobe’s digital publishing technology, users can build digital editions of print issues, designed especially for the output device and enhanced with interactive features. Adobe’s tools allow such tablet-friendly add-ons as slideshows, pinch-and-zoom images, video, audio and 360-degree photos to be inserted into InDesign documents.

Editors and designers can work with familiar software control the look and feel of their publications without relying on programmers or developers to create the desired iPad experience.
