The Mochila “online content marketplace” has signed several dozen new member organizations, bringing its new total to 95.
Members now include the Chicago Tribune, the Chattanooga Times Free Press, American Profile magazine, Deutsche Presse-Agentur, and various other newspapers or companies with newspaper clients.
Among the many non-newspaper members recently joining Mochila are MSNBC.com, CNET.com, and Scientific American magazine.
Mochila enables sellers to upload content to its site and then set prices, embargoes, exclusions, and other licensing rules. Buyers search for content, review the prices and licensing terms, and purchase their choices. Content is then downloaded to their computer. There are also online advertising and revenue-sharing opportunities.
