The Mochila syndication service, which is nearing its first anniversary, now has 264 “members.”
Among members signed in recent months are the DPM News Agency from the Arab world, Kyodo News from Asia, the Investor’s Business Daily newspaper, and the TalkingPointsMemo.com blog. Media outlets signed earlier include the Associated Press and the Los Angeles Times/Washington Post News Service.
Mochila made its debut last April 1. The syndication service enables sellers to upload content to its site and then set prices, embargoes, exclusions, and other licensing rules. Buyers search for content, review the prices and licensing terms, and purchase their choices. Content is then downloaded to their computer. There are also online advertising and revenue-sharing opportunities.
