With today’s news about a “Moderately Confused” comic collection, United Media has announced three new books in three days. What’s up?

“We found we have fan demand for books for ‘Big Nate,’ ‘Lola,’ and ‘Moderately Confused’ that we are hoping to fill through print on demand,” replied Mary Anne Grimes, United’s executive director, public relations.

The book announced today is “21st Century Confusion,” a collection of Jeff Stahler’s “Moderately Confused” comic panel. Stahler is also editorial cartoonist for the Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch, and regularly contributes editorial cartoons to USA Today.

“Moderately Confused” is syndicated by United’s Newspaper Enterprise Association division, which distributes Stahler’s editorial cartoons, too.

The “Big Nate” book announced Monday is called “I Smell a Pop Quiz,” and the “Lola” collection announced yesterday is titled “Gimme a Break!” Those two comics are by Lincoln Peirce and Todd Clark, respectively.
