‘Modesto Bee’ Asks Readers to Vote on New, Current Comic Strips

By: E&P Staff

The Modesto (Calif.) Bee is shaking up its comics pages, and is asking readers for their input on which strips should stay, which new ones should join the fold, and which should go.

The Bee is giving six comics a trial run beginning today for four weeks, and is asking comics fans to rate “Barney & Clyde,” “Bizarro,” “Dustin,” “Fort Knox,” “Home and Away” and “Oh Brother” on a scale of 1 to 10. Voters can make their voice heard once daily. To vote, go here. Registration is required.

Readers also are asked to rank the Bee’s existing comics as well, and those votes will help determine which of those strips will get the boot. Among its current comic strips are “B.C.,” “Baby Blues,” “Beetle Bailey,” “Speed Bump,” “Rose is Rose,” “Pickles,” “Peanuts” and “Pearls Before Swine.”

Those with more to say on the subject rather than just a 1-to-10 scale vote can send their opinions to Features Editor Deke Farrow at jfarrow@modbee.com.
