Monster.com is considering other newspaper alliances, the company?s head Andrew McKelvey said today.
On Tuesday the company announced a partnership with Philadelphia Media Holdings, the owner of The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News. A co-branded Web site is planned for an Aug. 14 launch. The papers were part of CareerBuilder when they were owned by Knight Ridder.
McKelvey told Reuters, ?Would we consider a newspaper in California, or a newspaper in the Midwest? Sure.
?The local marketplace is tough, particularly when you get into C and D markets. So what we?re looking at is, would it make sense to partner with some newspapers in those markets because we?re really not there now.?
McKelvey said that other alliances with newspapers depend on the success of the Philadelphia deal.
